The process is modified from wet lubrication (use of water and
chemicals for lubrication) to dry lubrication.
It was agreed that the unit of payment is number of working hours of the
Conveyor.

| Benefits |
a. Environmental benefits
Water is not used for the lubrication process (consumption will be
reduced by1500 m3 yearly);
Sodium hypochlorite is not used for water pretreatment for the line PET
3 (consumption of active chlorine will be reduced by 7.5 kg yearly, that
means about 270 l of sodium hypochlorite);
Consumption of chemicals for waste water treatment will be reduced
(cannot be quantified as waste water treatment is done by Public Utility);
The chemical for lubrication with dangerous characteristics is replaced
with the eco friendly one;
Consumption of the chemical for lubrication is three times less than
before the ChL model implementation
Even though there is some energy savings (electricity) that is negligible (there is no water pumping, spraying time and coefficient of friction are less).
b. Economical benefits for Knjaz Milos
The costs are calculated for 5000 working hours of the conveyor per year. Savings are around 6000 EUR yearly (only the costs of chemicals and water were calculated).
c. Intangible benefits for Knjaz Milos
Better coefficient of friction of the conveyor;
The conveyor will last longer;
Better line productivity (there is no dropped bottles);
Higher cleaning standards - Microbiological problems are eliminated
since water is not used any more;
There is microbistatic effect in the lubrication and conveyor system due
to the characteristic of the new chemical;
Better occupational health and safety (reduced quantity of aerosols in the
air, cleaner working environment, risk of injuries is significantly
reduced, as the floor is not slippery;
Reduced time and cost of cleaning and disinfection of the conveyor.
d. Benefits for Ecolab
Cost for transportation is three times lower, as the imported quantity is
lower
Cost for storage hiring is lower
Services are the part of the product price
Better relationship with user
Threat from competitors is significantly reduced (before ChL model
implementation, Knjaz Milos had two suppliers of a lubricant for this
line).
