The Egyptian NCPC is coordinating three Chemical Leasing projects: Completed projects Cleaning equipment with hydrocarbon solvent Dr. Badawi - GM Egypt Powder coating for electrical equipment Akzo Nobel - Unionaire Akzo Nobel - ABB ARAB Fluxing process in hot dipping galvanisation by molten Zinc El-Sewedy Co - Zinc Misr S.A.E Ongoing projects Pre-treatment processes, cathodic deposition process and electrostatic coating process Akzo Nobel, Chemetall - Delta Electric Appliances (DEA) / Olympic Group (OG) Potential and planned projects Tin plating For the tin plating pilot project the idea is to install chemical leasing for the solvents used during the process. For the pilot existing experiences with chemical leasing of solvents can be used and applied to new processes. Process optimisation should be supported by the fact that user and supplier are owned by the same group of shareholders. In particular new experiences are expected related to marketing and disseminating the concept by the supplier. Caps isolation For the caps isolation the same user and supplier couple is foreseen as for the tin plating. The idea is to have a second approach for this couple of partners where the amount of PUR foams used should be reduced. If the expected reduction potentials can be realised in the pilot there would be could chances for worldwide application. Phosphating The phosphating project intends to use the experiences of the powder coating and apply chemical leasing at a production site with very high standards of automatisation.
