Agreements for three Chemical Leasing (ChL) projects have been signed with the ENCPC. The participating companies agreed to long-term cooperations and the introduction of ChL business models. Reorganisation of the chemical management systems and technical changes at plant level are already being implemented. General Motors (GM) Egypt Powder coating for electrical equipment Akzo Nobel ABB ARAB, Unionaire Fluxing process in Zinc hot dipping galvanisation Zinc Misr S.A.E El-Sewedy Co. Pre-treatment processes, cathodic deposition process and electrostatic coating process Akzo Nobel, Chemetall Delta Electric Appliances (DEA) / Olympic Group (OG) Dr. Badawi Chemical Works Co. is a medium size private company highly specialized in chemicals used in metal finishing industries. GM Egypt, a large private company, part of the global GM group, produces 70 cars per day and consumes around 35 tons of hydrocarbon solvent per year. Akzo Nobel Powder Coating SAE in Egypt is part of the international group of Akzo Nobel and leading company in the powder coating which covers around 60% of the Egyption powder coating market its main end users sectors in Egypt or domestic applicances, electric equipment and air conditioners. Unionaire is an international market leader in air conditioning technology. Unionaire has about 2,600 employees and produces more than 400,000 air conditioner units per year, 80% of which are exported. ABB ARAB is one of the market leaders in power and automation technologies. ABB Egypt has five factories and employs 2500 workers, engineers, technicians and other professionals. A major input to the production processes is electrostatic coating powder. El-Sewedy Co. is a large private sector group consisting of 13 factories mainly focusing on metal finishing industries among them the hot dipping galvanisation is one of the main activities for El Sewedy Company. Zinc Misr S.A.E is a small private Egyptian company. It is focusing its business on zinc management and recovery from various industries. Among other activities Zinc Misr is producing flux (NH4Cl & ZnCl2) for pre-treatment process in hot dipping galvanisation industry. Chemetall is a global company committed to specialty chemistry. The Group's activities focus on products and processes for the chemical treatment of metal surfaces and plastics, as well as selected fields of fine chemistry, e.g. lithium and cesium compounds. The company is represented in Egypt by its authorized agent company (Obegi Chemicals Egypt) which has sole distributorship agreements with other international companies. Delta Electric Appliances (DEA) / Olympic Group (OG) has been established in 2002 as an Egyptian company part of the OG. The company has a production chemistry of 600,000 automatic washing machines per year in addition to largest fridges factory in Africa and in the Middle East. It has 1,100 employees. Amvitec – Distillation technology (http://www.amvitec.com/) was established as a Greek company in 1983. As a plant service provider the company delivers various types of self-recycling units for solvents and aqueous cleaners and enclosed parts washing machines. Services include equipment installations and regular cleaner swapping with waste removal recycling.
